Overall, a nice course with a sweet layout and plenty of elevation changes. This place was nothing more than a rock-hard cow pasture when it first opened, and the softness of the course seems to get better every year.

Biggest downer is pace of play and accessibility. Way too crowded and extremely slow play most of the season. If you are not into league play, forget about walking on after work.

Understaffing and/or indifferent staffing does not help the overall situation. I can not tell you how many times I have seen overflowing trash receptacles and ambivalent course rangers here at Kingswood. Management just seems to lack the vision or initiative to overcome glaring shortcomings.

I live less than a mile from this course and play elsewhere most of the time for the above reasons. Too bad, really. The course has the potential to be a fine little jewel in this high-quality golf mecca of Upstate NY.

Bottom line: I would play again, Average course for the area

The course was in excellent shape, nice fairways, rough was punishing where it should be. Fair amount of hazards.

While the course is surrounded by farmland, the area is beautiful, and the course displayed numerous elevation changes, lending to the overall difficulty. No houses on the course, which is a plus for me.

The only negative I could note was that the greens, while well maintained, had some issues with ball marks. More of a problem with fellow golfers than course quality, but it would suggest that some ball mark repair guidelines should be prominently displayed in the clubhouse (I did not see any).

Would travel: 30-60 Miles, Not Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: I would play again, Better than average course for the area

If you enjoy seven hour rounds of golf with drunk and dis-orderly players on the course taking 30 plus shots a hole, and a staff of rangers who watch it going on and fail to address it, well brother this is your golf course.

Kingswood Golf Club is not my cup of tea. And it is a shame, becauseit is a nice track. But, it is not one that I and the members of my foursome and anyone I can tell about it will hopefully never ever play again! We took a 30 minute lunch break and still waited with two other foursomes for twenty minutes on the 11th tee.

Management of the Kingswood would be a real good start if they ever expect to be a respected golf facility. Management needs to take control. Kingswood was an example of Golfers gone wild and slowwwwww.
